Education
SIILC provides a variety of outreach activities to educate members of the communities of the needs, abilities, and rights of individuals with disabilities. SIILC addresses the educational needs of children with disabilities. We believe the knowledge gained by the individuals empowers them to make informed decisions about their own lives as well as promotes self-advocacy.

Housing
SIILC promotes programs that provide a greater number of accessible housing units for individuals with disabilities and awareness programs for realtors and contractors that reflect the market for accessible housing.

Transportation
SIILC promotes programs for accessible transportation for disabled individuals in the seven counties in the Center's service area.

Recreation
SIILC promotes accessible programs, activities, training, and visits to Federal, State, and local parks.

Volunteerism and Community Inclusion
SIILC promotes programs, activities, and services designed to maximize the inclusion of community involvement for all individuals. SIILC has developed and enhanced collaborations with other local organizations and agencies. We encourage consumers to become involved in community activities and maximize their full participation opportunities.

Vision
SIILC collaborates with ILCEIN to provide a full range of services to people with low vision or blindness. The Chapter 2 Program offers services to those with visual impairments over the age of 55. Through this program, the Center is able to offer many services and training programs which can include in-home adaptations and assistive technology devices that enhance independent living. The Center offers mini-grants to eligible consumers to help offset costs of such devices.
