Information and Referral
SIILC serves as an information and referral center to better inform individuals of their options, choices, and rights. There are many resources available within the community of which individuals may not have knowledge. SIILC can assist individuals in receiving information required to make informed decision about their lives.

Peer Counseling
Peer support enables people with disabilities to learn from the life experiences and expertise of others. SIILC believes "There is no need to reinvent the wheel. " SIILC has resources available for consumers to connect individuals with similar situations to assist them.

Advocacy
SIILC promotes a policy for providing self-help and self- advocacy among individuals with significant disabilities. SIILC promotes the education of businesses and government representatives on the abilities and needs of people with disabilities.

Ombudsman
SIILC promotes striving for excellence in long term care and advocating for residents' rights through the Ombudsman Program. The Ombudsman serves as an advocate who seeks to resolve complaints made by or on behalf of individuals receiving Long-Term Care services.

Independent Living Skills Training
SIILC assists individuals in their efforts to learn new ways to perform daily living functions such as: cooking, bill paying, cleaning, shopping, dressing, and many others.
